According to Gartner, CASB is a “required platform for organizations using cloud services, and security leaders should use this research to shortlist CASB providers,” and find they, “address gaps in security resulting from the significant increases in cloud service and mobile usage.”

Gartner’s Market Guide for CASBs details macro IT trends driving expansion and maturation of the market among them the accelerating move to cloud services and the shift in enterprise to non-PC form factors like tablets and smartphones.

Bitglass’ Cloud Adoption Report from earlier this year also highlighted accelerating adoption of public cloud apps, finding that 48% of organizations are using a cloud-based productivity and email suite.

"As more organizations adopt cloud-based solutions, we are seeing rapid adoption of CASBs," said Nat Kausik, CEO, Bitglass. “IT leaders are turning to CASBs because they need a comprehensive solution that provides visibility and control across all devices.”

Bitglass offers the only complete CASB solution, helping organizations secure data stored in the public cloud with API, forward- and reverse-proxy modes for comprehensive protection across all cloud app operating modes.
