Meet the team

Bitglass was founded in 2013 by a team of industry veterans with a proven track record of innovation and execution. Bitglass is based in Silicon Valley and backed by venture capital from NEA, Norwest and Singtel Innov8.

Andrew Urushima headshot

Andrew Urushima

SVP of Finance

Andrew oversees accounting and finance operations. Before heading up the finance team at Bitglass, Andrew was VP of Finance at Color, a computer software company. Andrew held various finance leadership roles at Trubates, lala media (acquired by Apple), Postini and Seven Networks. Andrew received a B.S. in business administration from UC Berkeley.

Anoop Bhattacharjya

Chief Scientist

Anoop is responsible for data protection and analytics. Anoop was chief architect at Angie’s List, the popular website containing crowd-sourced reviews, before joining Bitglass in April 2013. Anoop held engineering roles at Asterpix, Trubates, and Epson before joining Angie’s List. Anoop earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in computer systems from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, and a B.S. in electrical engineering from IIT, Kanpur.

Anurag Kahol

CTO

Anurag expedites technology direction and architecture. Anurag was director of engineering in Juniper Networks’ Security Business Unit before co-founding Bitglass. Juniper Networks creates products and solutions that meet the growing demands of the connected world. Anurag received a global education, earning an M.S. in computer science from Colorado State University, and a B.S. in computer science from the Motilal Nehru National Institute Of Technology.

Chris Chan

SVP of Engineering

Chris runs the development, QA, and operations teams. Chris was VP of engineering at Angie’s List, prior to becoming part of the leadership team at Bitglass. Before Angie’s List, he held engineering roles at Asterpix, a leader of content discovery, and Trubates, an online marketplace enabling local merchants to sell excess capacity as prepaid discount coupons. Chris earned a B.S. in computer science from the UC Berkeley.

Dean Hickman-Smith

SVP of WW Field Operations

Dean Hickman-Smith brings more than 20 years of global executive sales leadership experience to Bitglass. Prior to joining the company he built a global network of strategic OEM & integration partners and a worldwide field operations team that served more than 15,000 customers. Prior to joining Bitglass, Dean held roles at VArmour, Aerohive Networks, Proofpoint, and Juniper Networks. Dean attended Bristol Polytechnic and RAF College Cranwell.

Mike Schuricht

VP of Product Management

Mike has led the product management and techpubs teams since joining Bitglass in November 2013. He has a background in the development of enterprise security products, with expertise in configuration management, UI design, and networking. Prior to joining Bitglass, Mike was a PM at Palo Alto Networks leading security management and UI strategy. Before that, he held technical marketing and engineering roles at Mentor Graphics. Mike earned an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering and BS in Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara.

Nat Kausik

Advisor

Nat was president and CEO of Bitglass from founding in Jan 2013 to retirement in June 2017. Prior to Bitglass, Nat was CEO of Asterpix, Trubates, FineGround and Arcot Systems, as well as positions in research and academia. Nat earned a B.Tech from IIT, Madras, an M.S. from Princeton University, and a Ph.D. in computer science from Cornell University.

Rich Campagna

CEO

Rich joined Bitglass as VP Products, and then became SVP Products and Marketing, before becoming CEO in June 2017. Prior to joining Bitglass, Rich was senior director of product management at F5 Networks, responsible for access security. Rich gained valuable experience in product management and sales engineering at Juniper Networks and at Sprint before working at F5. Rich received an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a B.S. in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
