glass class - securing healthcare data in the cloud

Video Transcript

Hello everyone and welcome to today's edition of Glass Class. Today we're going to be talking about securing mobility in healthcare organizations. Let's start out by first addressing some of the challenges, as well as some of the requirements, for securing mobility in healthcare organizations.

One of the challenges that healthcare organizations face is as they are rapidly adopting the cloud, they want to make sure that they still have access to their native cloud apps. Also, along with that access, they want to make sure that they provide that access anytime and anywhere. The only way they do that is if they adopt BYOD. Now, of course, BYOD has its own risk, and because healthcare organizations also have to fall into compliance like HIPAA compliance, they want to make sure that they can secure PHI. This is going to require a solution that provides real-time data loss prevention.

Another entity that healthcare organizations face is broad affiliations. And what that means is, essentially, imagine that you have your own primary care physician who might be a specialist. You may visit your primary care physician at one facility; however, if he or she is a specialist, they may actually be servicing several different healthcare organizations in the area. This requires a solution that's versatile, that can definitely adjust itself with the changes. It's going to require a solution that doesn't require any agents or software on the device. It's got to be agentless.

Then you may ask yourself “How can I achieve all of this in one?” Honestly, the answer is simple - with a CASB.
