Bitglass launches EMEA operations

By Bitglass | Dec 1, 2016, 5:00:00 AM

AMSTERDAM, NL – (December 1st, 2016) – Bitglass, the total data protection company, today announced its expansion into the EMEA region with the appointment of Eduard Meelhuysen as Regional VP of Sales. The company is capitalising on the growing demand for its cloud access security broker (CASB) and agentless mobile security solutions.

Since its inception in 2013, Bitglass has become a market leader and the only CASB to offer inline, real-time data protection from any device for cloud apps like Office 365, Salesforce, Box, and more. The company is looking to grow its partner network in Europe and the Middle East.

In its Market Guide for Cloud Access Security Brokers,* Gartner predicts that, “by 2020, 85 percent of large enterprises will use a cloud access security broker platform for their cloud services, which is up from less than 5 percent today,” and notes that the CASB market “has quickly become a compelling cloud security control platform for organizations of all sizes adopting cloud services.”

Eduard Meelhuysen has joined Bitglass with over 15 years experience managing and growing technology businesses. Prior to joining the company, Eduard held executive sales roles at Imperva, Aerohive Networks, and Netskope. In his role as head of Bitglass’ EMEA sales operations, Meelhuysen will spearhead the company’s partner programme and drive the adoption of the CASB offering in major enterprises throughout the region.

“We’re seeing a surge in demand for cloud security across Europe as cloud adoption accelerates in the region,” said Nat Kausik, CEO of Bitglass. “We’re excited to welcome Eduard to our team to leverage the strong momentum that the company has experienced in the US and help EMEA businesses solve their security and compliance challenges as they move to the cloud”.

“As the CASB market transitions from shadow IT discovery to data protection, I am thrilled to be joining the market leader and looking forward to accelerating Bitglass’ already strong growth,” said Meelhuysen. “We are open for business and looking to recruit partners across the region. Enterprises will benefit from the most comprehensive CASB on the market and partners can expect a very focused and close relationship with Bitglass.”
