Bay Cove Human Services is a private, not-for-profit corporation that provides a wide variety of services to individuals and their families who face the life-long challenges of developmental disabilities, aging, mental illness and drug and alcohol addiction. When the 1,700 employee organization decided to move to Google Apps, CIO Hilary Croach had a tight budget, a small team, and HIPAA regulations to contend with.
The challenge was that protecting Bay Cove's data in Google Apps was going to require an Audit Tool, a Data Leakage Prevention solution, a Mobile Device Management solution, and an Identity and Access Management solution. Not only would all of these solutions take a large team to implement and manage, but the licensing costs alone would have wiped out most of the economic gains that Bay Cove hoped to achieve by moving to Google Apps (if you're not familiar with Google's Nonprofit pricing, the economics are quite compelling).
The solution? An emerging category of solutions that Gartner is calling the #1 technology for information security in 2014 - Cloud Access Security Brokers. Bay Cove was able to eliminate all of this incremental spend with a single solution.
